After an awesome trek along Abel Tasman i decided to do another tramp!, who said walking was boring? Anyway here is the Queen Charlotte track its one of nature's wonderland in which you get to see stunning Marlborough sounds views, Queen Charlotte is located at the top of the NZ scenic South Island, this walk involved a one day walk and cruise, i walked in the footsteps of explorer Captain Cook! through magnificent virgin forest emerging at the ridgeline to breathtaking views of Cook strait. Ship ahoy folks!

Abel Tasman (Awesome!!!!)

After spending another memorable spectacular experience of tramping two days along the Abel Tasman, it has got me thinking? no one comes to this country to see what man has done!, they come to see what he has not yet undone, they come to see the inhospitable land, the land by and large they call beautiful. Awesome!!

Abel Tasman (Day 2)

Did you know Abel Tasman was named after a dutch man, Abel was the first ever european to come to shore on the South Island!

Abel Tasman (Ancorage Hut)

After a memorable six hour walk in the Tasman i finally arrived at Ancorage hut, this was my first stop of point where i got to stay in a 5 star luxury hut!!, (a wooden bed long enough to sleep 25 people) while i was at the hut i was nominated to go and get the firewood (they must of thought i was a lumberjack) it was not easy you no as you can see in the pics!!. there must be a fine art for choping a log clean through methinks, where was shrek when i needed him?? good times though.

Abel Tasman (Day 1)

So here i am on my two day tramp, now i thought tramping was a walk in the park, how wrong was i!, you seem to walk up steep rocky paths and then you walk down steep rocky paths and then you walk up steep rocky paths and then you walk down steep...... you get the idea, but its all worth while as you will see in these photo's i took, while i was recovering from the last steep rocky path........ phew! but great times eh!

The Abel Tasman (Tramping)

This is the Abel Tasman National park which i will be doing a two day tramp, the tasman is a unique envoirment as you will see which is bounded by golden beaches, granite rock headlands and deep blue waters of the Tasman bay!, its set on a backdrop of mountain ranges covered with sub-tropical native New Zealand rainforest, this is a place of rare beauty and suppose to be home to hundreds of species of birds and marine mammals and sea life so are you ready for the trek folks? ok lets do it, do it now.

Nelson

Hey guys & gals so here i am in Nelson!, which apparently is the centre of New Zealand as you will see in the photos, its another town/city that is set in the valleys and again "another beautiful place", anyhow after spending a couple of sunny days here which Nelson has plenty off! all year round, im now of to do some tramping in Abel Tasman, whatever tramping is! Bring it on, so put your walking boots on folks!

Picton

This is Picton the major port that links the north and south islands, its a small but quaint place, a very quite town, this was where Cpt James Cook first came ashore aboard The Endeavour, the first landing was at Ship Cove on 15 January 1770, a long time ago! Cpt Cook nearly did as much traveling as me ha! anyway enough about Cpt Cook im now off to catch the bus to Nelson.

The Ferry Crossing (Wellington to Picton)

Ok folks after having an awesome experience walking the Tongariro crossing i decided to travel to Abel Tasman in the south island for more stunning scenery, so here i am cruising across cook straight towards Picton sailing through the charms of the Marlborough Sounds!!.

The Tongariro Crossing Continues even more!!

Did you know the last eruption of Mt ngauruhoe was in 1975 & Mt Ruapehu had some spectacular eruptions as recently as 1995 and 1996!!! To the west of the Central Plataeu lies lonely Mt Taranaki, which is a spectacular almost conical shaped volcano near the coastline. This volcano appeared in the Lord of the Rings film as Mt DOOM!! Shrek appeard as an extra in the film as well! he was one of the Hobbits can you guess who eh??

The Tongariro Crossing Continues!

Did you know that Mt Ruaphehu, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Tongariro are part of a line of Volcanic activity that stretches across the Pacific Ocean called the Pacific Ring of Fire!!

The Tongariro Crossing!

Anytime is a good time people say!, But this time the Tongariro crossing was the most awesome time i had in this stunning scenic country!! This crossing is one of the reasons you come to New Zealand for folks!!!, its the best one day alpine trek you can ever do methinks! its a 17km walk through the craters of Mt Tongariro, the most dominant and breath-taking features are the central plateau volcanoes; Mt Raupheu, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Tongariro. Testimony to the awesome power of nature! i had total respect as i walked in their shadow conbining with Blue Lakes, Emerlad Lakes Red Craters & Ketetahi thermal areas. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is why you come travelling! DO IT, DO IT, DO IT NOW Chaps!

My time in Wellington

After spending allot of my time in Wellington, i managed to go and see most of the events that this beautiful city hosts! i.e The Wellington Cup (Horse Racing), The World Cup Severn's (Rugby, awesome), The Xair Games (BMX, Skateboard, Waterjumps, Motorcross, Halfpipe estc, Fun) and plenty of other festivals i.e. (Cuba St, Bob Marley, Chinese New Year festival etc etc), I even tried to join the NZ Army!!, its good times over here in the summer months let me tell you!!!, every weekend between January to February its kicking off and its great times!!, ive never known a city like it and the weather is usually as hot as!, here are some pictures to give you an idea of what this city has to offer.
